This past weekend we had Happening #24 at Grace Church Galesburg. A Happening weekend is led by teens for teens and is focused on leading people to Christ. There are a series of talks given by teens a clergy about Jesus Christ, piety, sacraments, etc. After each talk there is time for small group discussion. There is also time during the weekend for quite reflection, prayer, and worship. We had plenty to eat and also had a LOT of fun. Some of us even got a little sleep! - Katrina is a member of St. Francis Anglican Church, Dunlap. I have been married to my husband Mike for 4 years and we live in Peoria with our dog Macy and our cat Sophie. I have attended church camp since age 7 and haven’t missed a year yet! I was active in Happening and youth group during high school.
Becky is a member of St. Francis Anglican Church Dunlap. I live in Peoria with my two cats, Cider and Avery, and am engaged to Fr. Toby Karlowicz. I have been involved with the youth of the diocese since I attended Happening when I was in 8th grade. I started going to camp when I was in high school, have been a counselor for 9 years and am currently the camp registrar.
We are both humbled and very excited to be serving the youth of the diocese as co-chairs of the Youth Department. Although we both have full time jobs, we feel that God has been calling us to this ministry for quite some time. We hope you will keep us in your prayers and that you will COME TO EVENTS! We think we have some great events planned, but no matter how many great ideas we have or how much planning we do, nothing will be successful unless you, the youth, show up and bring your friends!
